This painting depicts a view over the River Mersey from Liverpool after a heavy rain fall, with the sun shining through the clouds. 

"I took shelter whilst the rain was pouring down - I love watching rain, especially as it bounces off the pavement.  Once the rain had stopped, it was amazing to see the sun shining through the stormy clouds and the light reflections on the surface of the river.
