This painting depicts a view over Ullswater in The Lake District, in late summer sunshine. 

"This was an amazing visit to Ullswater, which provided me with many inspirational images on which to base paintings.  The light & reflections on the surface of the lake were amazing.  Based on one of those reference photos, I used watermixable oil paints to produce this piece of artwork, applying it with painting knives and brushes."
